Greenhouse gas emissions and the ozone layer

First, lets get an overview of the gas emissions gas by gas.

Major greenhouse gas trends

As you can see, all gastypes increased. Carbon dioxide still increase while methane, nitrous oxide and CFC-12 has stopped growing recently. CFC-11 have actually gone down the last 10-15 years.

Now, lets take a look on the ozon in Antarctica..

We can clearly see that the levels had dereased dramatically(more than 100%) from 1980 to 1995 and then remained pretty the same.

Here's a graph of gases that affects the ozon..

Ozone trends

This shows more exactly combined chlorine and bromine in the lower stratosphere (10-25 km), where most ozone loss occurs, leveled off around 1999. Bromine is included as an ozone-depleting chemical because although it is not as abundant as chlorine, it is 45 times more effective per atom in destroying stratospheric ozone.

The conclusion: We are handling this issue well. It ain't a future threat.
